Gin Rocks Press is a sole proprietorship in the province of Ontario, registered to Douglas Hunter, the owner of this site. GST is applied to purchases through his personal registration.
Privacy
We strive to adhere to the “ten principles” safeguarding personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).We only collect personal information from customers to the extent that is reasonable and necessary to fulfill an order. Except for payments by Interac e-transfer and Pay Pal, payments are managed by Lightspeed Payments. We do not receive or handle account information on credit cards, Pay Pal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
We do not store personal information beyond what is reasonable for conducting business fairly, and we may retain communications necessary to fulfill an order or resolve an order issue. We do not share personal information with others, nor will we use your contact information for any other purpose, including marketing and special offers, without your expressed permission. We understand that all personal data of customers must be erased from devices, including computers and cellphones, before they are disposed of.
Under Principle 9 of PIPEDA, “Upon request, an individual must be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of their personal information and be given access to that information. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.”
Shipping and Payment
We ship books to customers in Canada, using Canada Post. There is no charge for handling or packaging.
Customers are charged the requisite 5% GST on book sales. Shipping costs are subject to HST..
We aim to ship products within one business day of receiving an order. If we anticipate being unable to fulfill orders promptly, customers will be notified on the store’s website page of the delay, and customers otherwise will be informed by email if we cannot ship their order on the next business day.
Returns
All sales are final, unless a book arrives damaged. We ask that you notify us of the damage by emailing publisher@ginrockspress.com within fourteen (14) days of receiving it, and we will arrange to have the damaged book returned, at our expense. We will send you a replacement at no cost, at our expense.
